A long multicultural journey that still continues ….

I was born in the country that doesn’t exist any more – СССР. I grew up in the multistory, what can be called as a housing project. But it was a nice place – lots of room for a curious boy to roam around. Several construction sites, factories, junkyards were especially interesting. I still don’t understand how I ended up being such a book-worm.
The world was always changing: from 1985 till around 1990 we were trying to reform what we had before; after 1990 – just survive. Then Soviet Union disintegrated in 1991 and we started building a completely new country (not entirely, but very different from what was before). In 1996 I was born again – now in California. Immigration is like a new life, that’s why.

Then I lived in Los Angeles for 5 years. My parents still live there. Went to University of California, Irvine for undergrad. Then I was summoned to Stanford University where I managed to get MSEE. Now I work in the heart of the Silicon Valley.

I like crafts, photography, travel, especially backpacking.
