Dipsea trail

We did a small group hike today – just Nani, Lothar, and myself.

We did the entire Dipsea trail and back. The trail goes up and down from Mill Valley down to Stinson beach. At the mid point we had unusually large and fancy lunch at Parkside Cafe. Some reviewers say that they food there is nothing special, but I actually liked it. The food is supposed to be good, high quality, not out of this world, and that what they serve there in Parkside Café. Actually their menu is rather unusual. They don’t have this boring standard salad and omelet with toasts. The salads are different; they have some French or Italian dishes I have never heard of, etc. It is a nice place to have a meal after a long hike or in the middle. It is just difficult to hike back after it.

So, it seems that the Dipsea trail is a rather popular place. There were races on this trail since 1905. The total length is 7 miles, but they probably run back also. The trail goes up and down quite a bit, which makes for grueling even hiking experience.
