Running for the 21st season is the local gem called Palo Alto Philharmonic.

I always wanted to improve my cultural knowledge (which is what everyone should do, even the Torah says so) in the area of classical music. San Francisco Philharmonic is the great place to do this. But it is a bit cumbersome.

Palo Alto Philharmonic is a volunteer organization (at least it seems so) that conducts great concerts right here in Palo Alto. The concerts are small without any grandiosity. The performance feels very cozy.  Perhaps they just started this trend but last two times I’ve been there the conductor gave a small history talk about the music that will be played before the performance. It was very interesting. Kind of puts everything onto perspective.
